Bayport Aerodrome Society 2023 Scholarship Program
The Bayport Aerodrome Society announces the 2023 B.A.S. Scholarship Awards Program. Under the program, several scholarship positions will be awarded to people around the 23N area who are:
- passionate about aviation
- currently enrolled in a flight training program or pursuing a tailwheel endorsement
- interested in participating in the preservation of Long Island’s aviation history by becoming active members of the Bayport Aerodrome Society.
Scholarship Guidelines & Priorities
- The goal of the B.A.S. Scholarship Awards Program is to attract and maintain new members who are looking to get started in the aviation industry and share a love for aviation.
- Applicants must plan to become a B.A.S. member and attend at least two (2) general membership meetings which are held the first Sunday of every month at 1:30pm.
- Applicants must complete a written application and give a short speech to the general membership explaining why they are interested in pursuing aviation and what they would use the scholarship money for.
- Scholarship applicants must be either individuals pursuing an FAA certificate or active pilots looking to attain their tailwheel endorsement.
- Applications must be received by April 30th, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted.
- Scholarship winners will be notified June 5th, 2023. The award ceremony will be held during the general membership meeting on July 2nd, 2023.
